Jethro Tull est un groupe de rock britannique, formé à Luton, dans le Bedfordshire, en décembre 1967. Jouant initialement du blues rock, le son du groupe a rapidement incorporé des éléments de la musique folklorique britannique et du hard rock pour forger une signature rock progressive. Le groupe était dirigé par le chanteur/flautiste/guitariste Ian Anderson, et a inclus d'autres membres importants tels que le guitariste Martin Barre, le claviériste John Evan, les batteurs Clive Bunker, Doane Perry et Barriemore Barlow, et les bassistes Glenn Cornick, Jeffrey Hammond et Dave Pegg. Le groupe a connu un succès commercial en 1969, avec l'album de blues aux accents folk Stand Up, qui a atteint la première place des charts britanniques, et a effectué des tournées régulières au Royaume-Uni et aux États-Unis.
