[Verse 1]
Ah icky thump
Who'da thunk?
Sitting drunk on a wagon to Mexico
Ahh well
What a chump
Well my head got a bump
When I hit it on the radio
Redhead señorita
Looking dead
Came and said
Need a bed
In Español
I said
Gimme a drink of water
I'm gonna sing around the collar
And I don't need a microphone
[Chorus] (arranged for open Chord position)

[Verse 2]
Icky Thump
With a lump in my throat
Grabbed my coat
And I was freaking
I was ready to go!
And I swear
Besides the hair
She had one white eye
One blank stare
Looking up
Lying there
On the stand
Near her hand
Was a candy cane
Black rum sugar cane
Dry ice and something strange
La la la la la la la
La la la la la la la
[Chorus Repeats]
[Verse 3]
White Americans what
Nothing better to do
Why don't you kick yourself out
You're an immigrant too
Who's using who
What should we do?
Well you can't be a pimp
And a prostitute too
[Chorus Repeats]
Icky thump
Handcuffed to a bunk
Robbed blind
Looked around
And there was nobody else
Left alone
I hit myself with a stone
Went home and learned how
To clean up after myself
[Chorus Repeats]
(Notes: Strum the 1st pattern (Downstrokes on 1 2 3 4) then the 2nd one alternating between them. The second
Pattern will always be at the end of the verse.
When playing the G A chord section i sometimes alternate between the order of these two chords which is shown
in the Chord arrangement near the bottom. This arrangement has a country feel to it especially comparing to
the original. The Dynamics can be changed  when strumming the E minor chord to build tension
for example while playing this song i may fully hold the notes of the E minor chord throughout an entire 2
bars Or i may strum and loosen my grip on the fretboard to give it more of a "stacotto" feel.
The Chords at the end of each verse will release the Tension built by your E minor Chord throughout the Verse
When playing the section labeled "Chorus" I like to try and sustain the bass note of the E
because the melody feels thin by itself.
I based this
arrangement off of the assumption that the melody is using an A mixolydian Scale which implies the song is
in the Key of D although when looking at the chords and scales in the original it seems like he may have
written the song in the Key of A and used a Flat 7th in the melody. The reason that i wrote it in the Key of
was because in the Key of there's major 5th ( Major Chord) and the original arrangment
emphasizes Minor with the Power Chord that is palm muted giving it more of an Minor feel. This was my
only did it sound better to me it's much easier to play that way and makes the song feel like it's shifted
into the Key of A for a brief moment!)
This is my First Tab I've ever submitted I know the formatting is bad but I wanted to share my arrangement!
