Song: The girl from Ipanema
Artist: Astrud Gilberto
Music: Antonio Carlos Jobim
English lyrics: Norman Gimbel
Tabbed by DJ 1st Aug 2016
This Bossa Nova is a challenge for the average player
but I've tried to find the simplest voicings I could whilst
still retaining the jazzy feel of the chords.
Hear the original song at this link:

FINE TUNING: The original track is slightly flat of standard
pitch most likely the backing tracks were slowed down a
fraction to alter the tempo. If you wish to practise along
with the recording your guitar may sound a little sharp so
to match it much better use a chromatic tuner and detune all
the strings down approx.(-10 cents) below standard pitch.
CAPO: 1st fret (Will then sound in the recorded key of B
which is the nearest approximate key see tuning notes above)
Chords names and fret positions are relative to the capo:
D7 = xx0212 Db7sus2 = x46444 A7-9 = x02323
Db7-5 = x4300x D7sus2 = xx0210 Cmaj7sus2 = x35433
= x46564 = x13131 * = x35453

[Intro]
Dum dum dum! Brrring boom -boom...brrring boom -boom!
[Verse 1]
Tall and tanned and young and lovely
The girl from Ipanema goes walking
And when she passes each one she passes goes ...'Ahhh!'
[Verse 2]
When she walks she's like a samba
That swings so cool and sways so gently
That when she passes each one she passes goes ...'Ahhh!'
[Verse 3]
Oh but he watches so sadly
Db7sus2 A13
How can he tell her he loves her?
D7sus2 Bb7
Yes he would give his heart gladly
But each day when she walks to the sea
She looks straight ahead not at he
[Verse 4]
Tall and tanned and young and lovely
The girl from Ipanema goes walking
And when she passes he smiles
But she doesn't see
[Break]
