Styx est un groupe de rock de Chicago formé en 1970. Il a connu un grand succès avec des chansons pop rock et hard rock, et est devenu célèbre pour ses power ballads et ses albums du milieu des années 1970 et du début des années 1980. Le groupe est passé par des luttes internes, des problèmes de drogue, des maladies et des décès, mais il continue à se produire aujourd'hui (avec une composition sensiblement modifiée). Tommy Shaw, de Montgomery, AL, a quitté le groupe mais est revenu. Le batteur John Panozzo a développé un problème d'alcoolisme débilitant et a fini par mourir. Dennis DeYoung a développé un cas aigu de photosensibilité et a quitté le groupe. Ils se sont battus entre eux pour le contrôle du nom du groupe. Glen Burtnik a également quitté le groupe et est revenu, cette fois à la basse, pour remplacer Chuck Panozzo (le frère de John), qui avait également quitté le groupe (ouf).
