Clyde Jackson Browne (né le 9 octobre 1948) est un auteur-compositeur-interprète et musicien américain. Né à Heidelberg, en Allemagne, son père, Clyde Jack Browne, était un militaire américain. Il a déménagé à New York dans les années 60 et est devenu membre du Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. Il a commencé sa carrière solo et a sorti son premier album en 1972. Il a été un activiste politique et social franc tout au long de sa carrière, et continue d'enregistrer et de tourner aujourd'hui. Browne a dit ceci à propos de son influence musicale : "La plus grande influence ? J'en ai eu plusieurs à différentes époques - mais la plus grande pour moi a été Bob Dylan, qui est arrivé quand j'avais douze ou treize ans et qui a tout simplement changé toutes les règles sur ce que cela signifiait d'écrire des chansons."
